Let's Make 2025 Your Best Sleep Year Yet
The Latest Snooze: New Year, New You
Happy 2025, Bedmates!!
Like most people this time of year, I think about all the big changes I intend to make this year or new things I want to try: I’m going to be less stressed out! I’m going to start meditating again! I’m going to read more books! One of my most accomplished New Year’s resolutions I made in the last decade was quitting smoking, which I did cold-turkey on January 2, 2017. Now, please understand….I used to love smoking. I felt like I looked kinda “French-girl, tousled hair, effortless cool with a glass of wine and a cigarette.” Until I realized that was a pathetic, misguided and twisted fantasy. Reflecting now, I’m sure I looked more like a stressed-out New Yorker (still with tousled hair at least?), unhealthy, un-cool, drinking too much wine and smoking too many cigarettes. To think that I smoked nearly a half a pack per day—EEEW! I finally did some “New Year, New You” self-hypnosis (with the help of a flash-mob style company holiday-dinner-turned-intervention, begging me to quit) and finally, I gave it up. The point I’m making is, healthy choices and personal changes are so freaking satisfying when you truly commit to them. And while I am not here to preach, I am here to tell you from personal experience that if you stick to even one big resolution, it’s a life-changer.
A good night’s sleep is one of the most important gifts we can give ourselves, and yet, it’s one of the things we take most for granted. We love to brag about how we don’t need sleep, relying on silly colloquialisms such as “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” And yet, if we don’t get a good night’s sleep, we equally rely on losing sleep as a fail-proof excuse for virtually any mistake we make: “I’m sorry, I can’t think straight! I barely slept last night!” Since launching Bedfully, I am more committed than ever to making healthy sleep resolutions and helping our community embark on new and improved sleep habits along with me. So here are some snoozeworthy ideas for 2025 to help you live by your “New Year, New You” mantra and start living the dream.
Bedfully Yours,
Sharon xx
