In Bed With: Adir Abergel
Today, Adir is the go-to hair guru to, oh, just a few familiar names (Charlize Theron, Jennifer Garner, Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon, & Rooney Mara just to name a few) and is also the Creative Director of Virtue Labs (his restorative treatment mask is magic if you put it on your ends overnight. I swear you’ll wake up with nary a split end in sight).
I hope you enjoy these few minutes of his infectious energy and his gorgeous taste (with his penchant for mid-century bedroom style) and we are so grateful to Adir for sharing his boudoir and sleep habits with us. This busy pro who travels the world is an inspiration to us all and we are so happy he let us get in bed with him.
Bedfully: Do you have a special pillow or throw blanket?
Do I have a favorite pillow? Um, yeah, it’s probably an addiction. It is called a TEMPUR-PEDIC pillow, and I've had it for 10 years. It's x-large, and extra broken in, and extra comfortable, and it has been to every single continent and I will not travel without it. And I cannot sleep in any bed without this pillow, so please. Don’t break into my house and take my pillow. Please do not.
B: What side of the bed do you sleep on?
I cannot remember why I chose what side I sleep on, but, I will tell you I always start on the right-hand side and somehow by the end of the night my head is on the opposite side, my husband is on the floor, and my dog has gone into the living room. I am definitely a tornado when it comes to choosing sides in bed.
B: What is your absolute favorite thing in your bedroom?
My favorite thing in my bedroom that I cannot live without… it has to be my Molecule air filter. It has literally changed our lives. Um, I think it not only air filters, but it also has a UV blue light that kills all bacteria, and it has been the best, best investment we have in our room. And it is expensive but I think it's worth saving your money and buying one, we have no allergies anymore.
B: How do you alleviate stress to get a better night’s sleep?
So to alleviate stress during this time I have been changing my routine, which is taking a bath every single night, and I've discovered this awesome company called Nature of Things they make a magnesium soak and it's so beautiful and it smells amazing and you're going to love it. And then obviously, Virtue Restorative Treatment Masque. It's a company that I'm creative director for, and this mask is life-changing for your hair, um, you should definitely, definitely try it. B: Last thing you do before lights out?
So I come out to this beautiful atrium, where I have created such a beautiful sanctuary for myself and then honestly I read a little bit and then what I do is I say, “Adir, please shut the booooop up and go to sleep and hope to god that you sleep a full 8 hours.” And if I don't? I wake up and I’m a little bit groggy, and if I do? I wake up and I feel a little bit better. But that’s what I do.
